A Message from
Sarah Milroy
From students on their first school trip to an art gallery, to international visitors discovering legendary Canadian artists, to the neighbours who hike our beloved trails, the McMichael offers a place of respite and discovery.
We hear it every day in the comments we receive and encounters we have with educators, artists, families and visitors to our museum. Whether it’s a close encounter with a work of Inuit art, a breathtaking moment with a landscape by the Group of Seven, or a first glimpse at an emerging artist on the rise, a visit to the McMichael opens new vistas on what it means to be a part of this great country. As we grow in the years ahead, and bring the art of Canada to new and far-flung venues, we remain committed to finding new ways to serve our community through the transformative power of art. Your support makes this possible.
I look forward to continuing to update you on our shared progress and hope to celebrate with you in May under the stars.
